Hierarchy

A mass of sand starts at the top of the box and find its way down through eight groups of circular orientated holes. The holes have influence on the trail of sand. The sand carries the box. The work is a metaphor for social hierarchy.
The performance commentates on the hierarchic system by taking sand from the lowest part and endlessly pouring it into the top of the box. The 20 hour-performance took place at the "No Walls Expo" during the Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair of 2016.
