Duel exists of two elements fighting for their own independence. One shoots with bullets for real, the other defends itself in a more subtle way. The silhouette of the bigger gun is of a gatling gun, but made out of wood. The shape of the gun is mirrored and scaled by the scale. The scale lifts itself and loses its function. The bullets are pencils for another kind of warfare. The children’s chair lifts the other gun, what is the example for your children and their generation? Although the artwork was created before the war in Ukrain, it fits, along with several other wars.
