Burden

We are on a journey through time. We carry with us a legacy and a responsibility. We are trying to build a future. The work “Burden” consists of two suitcases. One suitcase (with test tubes, syringes and roots) is a metaphore of the past (legacy) and one pregnant suitcase stands for the future (responsibility). The audience represent the pressence. Our history is a part of us and so will our future be. If a standard suitcase is closed, the content is cut off from reality (like Schrödinger’s cat). In the manipulated suitcases of “Burden” the border between inside and outside is not so clear. Facing reality is the only way to survive. If we see the earth as an organism action in the form of support, (here in the form of blood transfusion) is needed to restore it’s medical condition. We only have a future when we take care of our legacy.
