Several forces hold the egg down to earth. Instead of the afterlife, the emphasis lies on the inevitable here and now. The contour of an island is visible on the rusted plate. The plate is slightly curved as a single piece of a jigsaw puzzle, suggesting the earth as a sphere. Although the island is isolated by water, it's still a part of the tangible whole.
