Anticipate

Oil Painting
wxhxd = 120 x 60 x 10 cm

The painting “Anticipate shows two figures who feel blown away before the grenade goes off. It is a commission to visualise the meaning of the space inbetween for the people behind the emergency services. In their occupation the principle of causality is not one simple effect as a reaction to the cause. Situations can change fast so they need to be able to constantly evaluate the circumstances and even reverse decisions. Time is then the largest constant factor by which actions are judged. Time is not approached linearly here, so that the effect no longer follows the cause, but the tension does increase.
